Although the embedded Tomcat service lets JBoss Application Server function as a stand-alone web server, there are many advantages (as outline above) to fronting JBoss AS with a real web server like Apache HTTPD. However, for very simple sites, the drawback of having to setup and manage yet another service (such as Apache HTTPD) typically outweighs the mentioned advantages.
