It takes a fixed number of rows from the Source data set.
It splits the data set into 2 sets, Sample and UN sampled output. &nbsp;

The main usage of this transformation would be to select a fixed size subset Of data. This subset can be used to test the Packages with a limited data set. &nbsp;

If you are running a package against a multimillion rows, you could Just run the package with. &nbsp;

The Transfer Database Task is used to move a database to another SQL Server instance or create a copy on the same instance (with different database names. This task works in&nbsp; two modes as shown below:
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Offline:</h3>
In this mode, the source database is detached from the source server after putting it in a single network location. On the destination server the copies are taken from the network location to the destination server and then finally both databases are attached on the source and destination servers. This mode is faster, but a disadvantage with the mode is that the source database will not available during copy and move operation. Also, the person executing the package with this model must be a sysadmin on both source and destination instances.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Online:</h3>
In this mode, the task uses SMO to transfer the database objects to the destination server. In this mode, the database is online during the copy and move operation, but it will take longer as it has to copy each object from the database individually. Someone executing the package with this mode must be either sysadmin or database owner of the specified databases.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Transfer Database Task: </h3>
Drag the Transfer &ldquo;Database Task&rdquo; from the Toolbox (which is normally on the left side) to the Control Flow pane. Right-click on the task and select Edit&hellip; as shown below.
In the &ldquo;Transfer Database Task Editor, &ldquo; select Databases on the left and now you are ready to configure this task. Source connection is the property to specify the connection for the source SQL server instance, if you have already created a connection manager then one as shown below. When designing the ETL process it&rsquo;s good to think about the three fundamental things it needs to do:

<li style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">Load the data so that it can be quickly accessed by querying tools such as reports. In practice, this implies processing SSAS cubes.</li>
</ul>
An ETL process is a program that periodically runs on a server and orchestrates the refresh of the data in the BI system. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a development tool and runtime that is optimized for building ETL processes. Learning SSIS involves a steep learning curve and if you have a software development background as I do, you might first be inclined to build your ETL program from scratch using a general-purpose programming language such as C#. However, once you master SSIS you&rsquo;ll be able to write very efficient ETL processes much more quickly. This is because SSIS lets you design ETL processes in a graphical way (but if needed you can write parts using VB or C#). The SSIS components are highly optimized for ETL type tasks and the SSIS run-time executes independent tasks in parallel where possible. If you&rsquo;re a programmer you&rsquo;ll find it amazingly difficult to write your own ETL process using a general-purpose language and make it run more efficiently than one developed in SSIS.

In SSIS you can design your ETL process using control flows and data flows. Data flows in SSIS are a type of control flow that allows you to extract data from an external data sources, flow that data through several transformations such as sorting, filtering, merging it with other data and converting data types, and finally store the result at a destination, usually a table in the data warehouse. This is very powerful and data flows seem to lend themselves very well for integrating the extract and transformation tasks within them. This is why I call this the &ldquo;obvious&rdquo; approach and many tutorials about SSIS follow this approach. The obvious approach seems especially attractive because it is very efficient and there&rsquo;s no need to store intermediate results.

SSIS Runtime Services manages storage of packages in .dtsx (SSIS package system file format) files or in the MSDB database and manages and monitors their execution.
